Security and data handling.

A plain-English summary of how WageDocket handles payroll exports, certified payroll artifacts, submission records, and audit history.

What You Upload

WageDocket is built around uploaded payroll exports, project records, worker records, wage context, classification rates, generated package artifacts, and external submission records.

The product does not process payroll, move money, file payroll taxes, or connect directly to payroll provider APIs.

Tenant Isolation

Application access is scoped to the organization associated with the signed-in user.

Artifact storage keys include an organization namespace, and file downloads use time-limited links rather than public file URLs.

File and Artifact Handling

Uploaded payroll exports and generated package artifacts are stored in object storage with metadata records in the application database.

WageDocket generates WH-347-style signed PDF packages, NYDOL XSD-validated XML exports, and NJ Wage Hub CSV template ZIP exports for external submission. WageDocket does not submit directly to government portals.

Audit Trail

WageDocket records workflow events such as imports, issue resolution, package generation, signing, external submission recording, and amendments.

The audit trail is intended to support review and recordkeeping. It is not a guarantee that a filing will be accepted or that a customer is compliant with every requirement.

Data Minimization

Users should upload only the payroll and worker details needed for certified payroll workflows.

Avoid uploading unrelated personnel files, bank-account data, health information, full Social Security numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive data unless a specific workflow requires it.

Customer Responsibility

Customers remain responsible for reviewing generated artifacts, confirming project and wage data, signing where appropriate, submitting files through the proper external portal, and keeping official confirmations.

WageDocket provides workflow software and preflight checks; it does not provide legal, tax, payroll, or compliance advice.
