Common Questions
Do I have to replace my payroll system to use WageDocket?
No. WageDocket is a certified payroll workflow layer on top of your existing payroll system. Export payroll data, import it into WageDocket, validate it, generate the required package or export, and track external submission.
What outputs does WageDocket generate?
WageDocket currently supports WH-347-style signed PDF packages, NYDOL XSD-validated XML exports, and NJ Wage Hub CSV template ZIP exports.
Does WageDocket submit directly to NY or NJ portals?
No. NY and NJ exports are generated for external portal upload. WageDocket records external submission details, stores receipts, and maintains the audit trail.
What file formats does WageDocket accept?
CSV and Excel (.xlsx) imports are supported, including saved import profiles for repeat weekly workflows. Files that are missing certified payroll requirements, such as daily hours or worker identifiers, remain blocked until corrected.
Is WageDocket a payroll processor?
No. WageDocket does not run payroll, calculate taxes, pay employees, or file tax forms. It helps prepare, validate, store, and track certified payroll artifacts from payroll exports.
